Connect your domain at Cloudflare
Two small changes. About 5 minutes.
Do not change MX or email records. Change only the two records below, and your email keeps working.
Log in to Cloudflare. Forgot your login?
1. Point www to your new site
- Type
- CNAME
- Name
- www
- Value
- the address in our email
- Sign in to the Cloudflare dashboard, pick yourdomain.com, and go to DNS Records.
- If a CNAME named www already exists, select Edit on it instead of adding one.
- Otherwise, select Add record and choose CNAME as the Type.
- Type www as the name and the address in our email as the target.
- Set Proxy status to DNS only.
- Select Save.
2. Forward your domain to www
- From
- yourdomain.com
- To
- https://www.
yourdomain.com - Type
- Permanent (301)
- In DNS Records, look for a Proxied record named @ or yourdomain.com.
- If there is none, select Add record, choose A, name @, address 192.0.2.1, and Proxied.
- Go to Rules > Overview, select Create rule, choose Redirect Rule, and type a Rule name.
- Under When incoming requests match, choose Wildcard pattern and type https://
yourdomain.com/* as the Request URL. - Type https://www.
yourdomain.com/${1} as the Target URL and choose 301 as the Status code. - Turn on Preserve query string, then select Deploy.
Tip: Keep www on DNS only. If the @ record exists but shows DNS only, edit it and switch it to Proxied so the redirect works.
