Connect your domain at GoDaddy
Two small changes. About 5 minutes.
Do not change MX or email records. Change only the two records below, and your email keeps working.
Log in to GoDaddy. Forgot your login?
1. Point www to your new site
- Type
- CNAME
- Name
- www
- Value
- the address in our email
- Sign in to GoDaddy and open your Domain Portfolio.
- Select yourdomain.com to open Domain Settings, then select DNS.
- GoDaddy usually adds a CNAME named www, so find it and select the Edit icon next to it.
- If there is no www record, select Add New Record and choose CNAME as the Type.
- Type www in Name and the address in our email in Value.
- Select Save.
2. Forward your domain to www
- From
- yourdomain.com
- To
- https://www.
yourdomain.com - Type
- Permanent (301)
- In Domain Settings for yourdomain.com, select the DNS tab, then select Forwarding.
- Select Add Forwarding, then choose Domain.
- Choose https:// and type www.
yourdomain.com as the destination URL. - Choose Permanent (301) as the forwarding type.
- Select Save.
- Leave your other records alone, because forwarding only replaces the @ website record.
Tip: If Domain Protection is on, GoDaddy asks for a verification code before it saves your change.
