Solo is shutting down on November 30. How do I save my website?
Download your site from Solo before November 30, 2026, then save your images on their own, because Solo's export does not include them. After that date, Solo says, there is no way to recover a site, an account, or its data.
A website builder shutting down is one of the worst emails a small business can get. Here is the plain version of what to do, while there is still time.
What Solo says
From Solo's own shutdown page, read on October 20, 2026:
- All Solo websites and data will be deleted on November 30, 2026, with no way to recover them after that date.
- The export is a ZIP with an HTML copy of your website, a CSV file with links to your images, and your contact form and newsletter submissions.
- Image files are not in the ZIP. Solo asks you to download each image from the links in the CSV file before November 30.
- If you have an active Solo Pro or Grow plan, Solo refunds the unused part of your billing period, counted as of October 1, 2026.
How to save your site, step by step
- Get your export. Use Download Website Data in Solo. Solo's shutdown page explains how.
- Save your images. Download each one from the links in the CSV file, or use our free tool, Solo Rescue. Pick your ZIP, and it gives you one ZIP with your pages and images together. Your export stays on your computer, because the page reads it in your browser. Each image comes through our server, because Solo's image server will not send it to a browser directly, and we keep no copy.
- Check it, and keep it safe. Open index.html in the new ZIP to see your site on your computer. Your images are in the folder solo-images.
- Plan for your domain. If your site is on your own domain (like yourshop.com) and it points at Solo, it will show nothing once Solo deletes the sites. Decide where it will point next.
Ways to get it back online
- Rebuild it on another site builder, with the pages and images you saved.
- Ask a designer to rebuild it from your ZIP.
- We put your saved site back online, unchanged, on your own domain for $49. That includes hosting for the first year. After that it is $9 a month, or we send you your site files free. Change your mind before it goes live, and we refund the $49 in full. We never ask for your passwords. Details and terms.
- Or ask for a free redesign: a new version from your own words and photos. If you like it, it goes live on your domain for $299, then $29 a month.
Brass tacks: we are not part of Mozilla or Solo, and we sell the $49 move and the redesign. Weigh our options with that in mind.
