Your Solo domain before November 30: move it to Name.com, then point it home

Solo deletes every site and all its data on November 30, 2026. If you bought your domain inside Solo, Solo's shutdown page says it must move to Name.com: you make a Name.com account, fill in its contacts, and email your Account Code to support@soloist.ai. If you bought it somewhere else and connected it, it is already yours. Either way, the domain then needs new records, or it stops showing your site.

Saving the pages and images is a separate job. Our step by step post covers it. This page is only about the domain.

Which kind of domain do you have?

How you got it Who holds it now What to do
Bought inside Solo, with Find a Domain (Solo Domains) Name.com, Inc. Solo's domain terms say Solo resells Name.com domains Move it to your own Name.com account. Steps below
Bought at IONOS Solo's page says its steps are for Solo Domains, "not IONOS", and stops there Ask support@soloist.ai which account holds it
Bought at GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare or another company, then connected to Solo You, in that company's account Nothing to move. Change its records. Steps below

Not sure? In Solo, open the designer, click the account menu at the top right, then Manage Domains. Solo's help says a domain you bought through Solo lives there. You can also type your domain into ICANN Lookup, which shows the registrar. A Solo Domains domain shows Name.com. So does a domain in your own Name.com account, so check that account first.

Move a Solo Domains domain to Name.com

First, write down your records. In Manage Domains, open your domain and go to the DNS Records tab. Solo locks three records that point at your Solo site: A, CNAME and TXT. Any record you added yourself shows there too, such as MX records for email at Google Workspace or Zoho. Screenshot every one. Solo's pages do not say whether these records come with the move, and your email depends on the MX ones.

Then follow Solo's steps, from its shutdown page:

  1. Create a Name.com account, or log in to the one you have.
  2. On Name.com's Account Contacts page, fill in the Registrant, Administrative and Technical contacts. Solo says Name.com "cannot accept the transfer until these are complete".
  3. Find your Account Code, in the top right corner of the Name.com dashboard.
  4. Email the Account Code to support@soloist.ai. Solo moves your Solo Domains account to Name.com and emails you when it is done.
  5. Add your billing details on Name.com. If you do not, Solo says Name.com reminds you as the renewal date gets close.

When Solo's email comes, log in to Name.com, find the domain, and compare its DNS records with your screenshots. Put back any MX record that is missing before you change anything else.

When. Solo gives no separate date for domains. Its one date is November 30, 2026, after which "there will be no way to recover your site, account, or data". Solo does not say how long the move takes, so send the email early.

The free lifetime domain. Solo Pro and Grow came with one free lifetime domain, for names up to $20 a year. The shutdown page does not say it stays free at Name.com. It says to add billing so it renews. Check the renewal date and price in your Name.com account.

One old page says no. Solo's How to buy a domain page still says you cannot transfer a domain away from Solo "at the moment". The shutdown page is newer, and it is the one to follow.

Point the domain at your saved site

In every case, the domain points at Solo until you change it. After November 30 there is no Solo site to show.

  1. Save your site first, with its images. Solo's download leaves the images out as links, and our free Solo saver puts them back in one ZIP, in your browser.
  2. Pick a new home. Solo's page names Wix, Squarespace and WordPress, and the AI builders Bolt and Lovable.
  3. Where your domain is held, remove Solo's A, CNAME and TXT records, and add the records your new home gives you. For a Solo Domains domain, that is Name.com, after the move.
  4. Leave the MX records alone, so your email keeps working.
  5. Give it time. Solo's own help allowed up to 48 hours for a new connection to Solo, so plan for a delay on the way out too.

Brass tacks: Brasspage sells this part. On our Solo page, $49 once puts your saved site back online as it is, on your own domain, with the first year of hosting. After that, $9 a month, or we send you your site files free. We send you the 2 small changes to make where your domain is held, and your email keeps working. We never ask for your passwords. If the free route above works for you, you do not need me.

What I did not check

Questions people ask

Can I transfer my domain away from Solo?

Yes, if you bought it through Solo Domains. Solo's shutdown page says these domains move to Name.com: you make a Name.com account, fill in its contacts, and email your Name.com Account Code to support@soloist.ai. An older Solo help page still says transfers away are not possible at the moment. The shutdown page is the newer one.

What happens to my domain on November 30?

Solo deletes all Solo websites and data on November 30, 2026. Its shutdown page gives no separate date for domains, so move a Solo Domains domain before then. A domain you bought elsewhere stays yours, but it stops showing your Solo site, so point it at a new home.

Will the email on my domain keep working?

Solo is not an email host, so your email runs at a provider such as Google Workspace or Zoho, through MX records on your domain. Write those records down before the move, and check that they are still there after it.

Is my free Solo domain still free at Name.com?

Solo's shutdown page does not say. It tells you to add your billing details at Name.com, and says Name.com reminds you as the renewal date gets close.

I bought my domain at IONOS. Do I move it to Name.com?

Solo's steps are for Solo Domains, "not IONOS", and the page says nothing more about IONOS. Ask support@soloist.ai which account holds your domain before November 30.
